EXCERPT TWELVE
Duncan recoiled from the sight.
“Stop, Angus—nae!”
Pure rage took over, the wind
howling in his ears, but he gave no care. As the dragon blazed into the night sky,
it seemed confused, wary. Its eyes burned red, glancing at Angus and then to
Lachlan.
“Ye cannot rule the beast!” screamed
Lachlan. “’Tis mine to control.” Pointing a finger at the dragon, he commanded,
“Kill the man who binds ye in chains, and I will let ye roam the land.”
