Now that RWA National is over, it's time to refocus on writing. The Golden Heart contest is approaching and I want to get my WIP in shape to enter. That RWA competition for unpublished writers has been a personal goal of mine since I started writing fiction. I challenge myself to have something new for it each year.

I credit my critique partners for helping me achieve that goal. They're great at providing feedback and encouragement. I also belong to an online loop that requires members produce a minimum of 100 words a day for 100 consecutive days. Word counts are posted daily. This provides accountability and motivation, too.

How do you establish writing goals? Who and/or what motivates you?
